Last night the Washington Nationals beat the Houston Astros in a stunning fashion to force a winner-take-all game seven tonight in the 2019 World Series final. The Nats were able to come back from an early 2-1 deficit in the first inning to rally their way to an astounding 7-2 victory. Tonight will be the fifth time the Washington Nationals have faced an elimination game in the 2019 postseason. With the entire season on the line we have no reason to doubt the Nats could be world champions when it’s all said and done.
This has been an especially exciting World Series matchup and a testament to die hard fans that they should travel to see their team on the road. For the first time in World Series history, the road team has won the first six games.
With the series on the line the Nats put the ball, and their World Series hopes, in Stephen Strasburg’s hand.
The ace pitcher more than delivered as he pitched through the beginning of the 9th inning ultimately leading his team to victory. In fact, Stras became the third pitcher in MLB history to record five wins in a single post season. He finished the game with 7 K’s in 8.1 innings pitched.
Juan
Soto became the
youngest player in
MLB history to hit
three home runs in a
World Series after
he smashed a solo
home run at the top
of the
5th
inning to give the
Nats a 3-2 lead.
Soto now has more
home runs in the
2019 postseason (5)
than any other
player 21 years or
younger in MLB
postseason history.
It’s safe to say
accolades like this
matter.
